Here are 10 books for My Younger Self. All the books below are books I wished I read earlier in my life, but all for different reasons.

Winnie The Pooh by A.A. Milne
I was obsessed with the animation adaptations of Winnie the Pooh when I was younger, and my Granny read them to me when I was a little girl. I’m kicking myself now that I have read them, that I hadn’t read them sooner. They bring me so much comfort and happiness.

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
I grew up with the movie, and wish I had picked the book up before the movie, so I could have reread it over and over as I do with the movie. I would have liked to know that the endings are different because that was what let this book down for me when I did, in fact, pick it up.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
Mainly I wished I read The Hobbit before I watched the movies. I honestly think I would have enjoyed it so much more, without the expectations that the movie put in my head.

The Key to Rondo by Emily Rodda
When I read this book earlier in the year, I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. There were so many different elements in this book that I know I would have loved it, had I read this book when I was younger.

The Shadow Thief by Alexandra Adornetto
I have had this book on my shelves for so long and had I read it when I first bought it, I would have loved it so much more. Like The Key to Rondo, this book had so many elements in there that would have made it memorable for me.

Coraline by Neil Gaiman
I enjoyed this book well enough. This book didn’t scare me when I read it this year, but I think the creepy vibe would have been so much more impactful if I read it when I was younger.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This one I honestly don’t know whether I would have enjoyed this book more had I read it, but I do think I would have got more out of it when I was younger.

Ripple and the Wild Horses of White Cloud Station by Trudy Nicholson
It is not normal for me to not like a horse book, but I felt the writing was not done well, and think that my younger self would have been able to ignore that and just enjoy the book.

The Holidays by Comtesse de Segur
I regret not picking this book up when I first read the series. I read the first two books and this is the final book. I am having to reread the ones I have already read so I can read this book and finish the series. I am not enjoying it like I did when I first picked the series up.

The Twits by Roald Dahl
This was my first 1 star of the year, I really couldn’t find any reason why people would like this book, but I think that if I had read it when I was a child, that things would be very different.
That's it for todays post, are there any books you wished you had read when you were younger?
