I originally got this idea from Becca and The Books on youtube, but since then I have seen a few others do it also. This is my second time doing this list, and it is 12 books that will be unhauled in a year if I haven’t read them, or as the post is called they will self destruct. I have many many books on my shelves, that I now can honestly not fit any more on them, and a lot of them have been acquired before I was reading like I am now. I don’t want to unhaul without trying them, but I need a push to try them.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
I bought this book 4 or 5 years ago, and I honestly don’t know too much about it, but something has kept me from picking it up all this time.
Dying to Tell Me by Sherryl Clark
This is one of the books that have been on my shelves the longest, but again I have not picked this up yet and I don’t know why.
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
I read this book a long time ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it but I never continued with the series. I then picked up the second book in a thrift shop, without owning the first one, but recently I acquired this book, but I need a push to read it and then DNF the series or read the series.
The Ruins of Barlan by John Flanagan
When we moved we lost a lot of room for books, so a lot is still in boxes, I went through one and found this book and I took it, but now I have run out of room and need to get rid of books that there are 50/50 I’ll read them.
48 Hours The Vanishing by Gabrielle Lore
I got this as a chancer book as the money went to charity. It’s small and I am positive I will read it in a readathon or something this year.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
I picked this up because it was popular and I had watched the movie, but I am not sure now that I will like YA romances very much.
Midnight For Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimmo
Another book I have had on my shelves for so long and don’t remember what it is about.
Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver
This book is the only one on the list that I am still actively wanting to read at some point, but I need a push to pick it up. Let’s hope this plan doesn’t backfire.
House of Secrets by Chris Columbus & Ned Vizzini
I got this as a present a long time ago but have never picked it up because when I was younger it intimidated me. But as I like reading middle grade, but there are not many of them I love, I feel like down the track if I ever need to read it I can get it from the library.
The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas
This is the same as Ruins of Barlan, I got it out of the boxes of books my parents own on the off chance I’ll read it.
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
I picked this up in a charity shop because it was my Stieefvater who is a popular author and it had a horse on the cover, but I am not sure now I will ever pick it up as my tastes have changed since then.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
I tried to read this but had put it down, I told myself I’ll give it to the 100 page mark before I decide to DNF it. It is on the list because either, I’ll read it or I will DNF it, but I don’t want to keep putting off the reading till the 100 page mark so this will be cut off date.
That’s it for my list. Is there any you think I should give a try?
