TOP TEN TUESDAY - BOOKS I NEED TO READ BEFORE 2021

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that caught my eye. It was brought to you by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was previously hosted at The Broke and the Bookish.

At the start of 2020, I wrote a list of the top 20 books I would like to read before 2021. It’s halfway through the year and I decided to check up and see how many I had read. I have 11 left on my list. I know it is meant to be 10 but 11 is so close to ten, its fine.

Lord of the Rings Fellow Ship of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

I’ve watched the movies and loved them so much and I read The Hobbit last year so it is high time I read it. I would love to at least start this trilogy this year.

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

I love the TV show so much, except for season 8 but I’m not going into that. I wanted to wait until the next book ‘The Winds of Winter’ is out before I start this series but we don’t know when that will be so I decided to bite the bullet and start this series and hold myself accountable by adding it to this list.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

I bought this book last year wanting to hop on the hype train, but I never got around to it last year, so this year will be the year I start this trilogy.

Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

I remember watching this when I was younger and not knowing it was a book first. My mum mentioned that the book was better like most book to movie adaptations are. I would like to be able to have my opinion on the matter.

Marley and Me by John Grogan

I have watched this movie too many times to count. I love it so much and it breaks me every single time, but I have never read the book before.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I bought An Ember in the Ashes back in 2018 and never got around to reading it even though I loved the premise.

Demon Road by Derek Landy

Derek Landy is one of my favourite authors so the fact I haven’t read all his work means that something needs to change.

The Devil’s Thief by Lisa Maxwell

Sequel to my favourite book of 2019 and I wanted to wait till closer of the release of the 3rd book so I don’t have to wait as long. It is coming out in December of this year so hopefully, I will have The Devil’s Thief read by then.

Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu

Batman is my favourite superhero/vigilante from the DC universe. It is only natural that I would like to read this book, but again I still haven’t got around to it.

The Binding by Bridget Collins

I bought The Binding at the start year at a thrift shop not even realizing it was a new release.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

I read Six of Crows last year but I wanted to read the Shadow and Bone trilogy before I continued the duology, I and finally done and can’t wait to read Crooked Kingdom.

I'm really hoping to be able to get to theses last books before the end of the year.
